UCL: Ronaldo scores brace to rescue Man Utd from away loss against Atalanta

Manchester United Striker, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace to rescue his club from another defeat against Atalanta BC on Tuesday night in the UEFA champions league.

Ilicic put Atalanta ahead in the 12th minutes with a short from the area of the “18 yard box” and deflated through David De Gea into the net.

Ronaldo struck in the 45th minutes to level for Manchester United.


Atalanta look sharp early in the second half and the effort paid off in the 56th minutes as Zapata D. beat the United offside trapped to score Atalanta second goal of the night.

with Villarreal leading in Spain, it look like United is going to settle for Europa spot.

But again, Ronaldo’s last minutes equalizer keep United in the race as the game end in a 2-2 draw.

Speaking after the match, Ronaldo said;

“The beginning was tough, we knew Atalanta would do a lot of pressure, they have a fantastic coach.

“When I played at Juventus they were always difficult to play against. We were a little bit lucky in the end, but that is football.”

The manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was also impressed with Ronaldo performance, insinuate every club will love to have.

“We all have our roles + responsibilities. We are not happy conceding two goals. I’m sure Chicago Bulls didn’t mind having Michael Jordan either. Sometimes teams have players who come up with those moments. He is feeling better. He is up to speed now.”
