Super Eagles begins AFCONQ with 2-1 victory against Sierra Leone

The Super Eagles of Nigeria has kick-off their AFCON 2023 qualifiers with a 2-1 victory against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on Thursday, June 9, 2022, in Abuja.

Sierra Leone take the lead in the 11 minutes of the game before Everton star, Alex Iwobi restore parity for the Eagles five minutes later.

Napoli’s striker, Victor Osimhen put the Jose Peseiro tutor side in the lead before the halftime.

However, the Eagles couldn’t add to the tally and the match ended 2-1 at the 60,000 capacity Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Super Eagles play Sao Tome and Principe in Marrakech in their next qualify game.
