Manchester United are working on a deal to persuade former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane to Old Trafford as replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a series of poor results under the Norwegian manager, according to The Sunday Times.
Zidane, who guided Madrid to three consecutive Champions Legaue titles as manager, is understood to be unsure whether the opportunity at United is the right one to take at this point.
However, top hierarchy at the Man United are hoping that Zidane’s close relationship with summer signings Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane can help to convince him.
