The Director-General of Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh has commence his consultation at his emirate (Zazzau emirate) ahead of the 2023 governorship in Kaduna as resignation looms for political appointees and civil servants eyeing elective position.
Jamoh in an interview with newsmen at the weekend said he started the consultations from his emirate because he was brought up to seek the blessings of elders and community leaders before embarking on any project.
Speaking at a gathering at Unguwar Juma in Zaria city, the Director General formally informed them of his intention to vie for the office of the governor of the state based on the yearnings of the people who have continue to mount pressure on him to come back to his state of origin and serve the people.

Receiving the NIMASA boss, the Wazirin Zazzau and Chief Imam of Zazzau, Khadi Mohammed Aminu and Sheik Dalhat Kasim respectively eulogized his track record of achievements at NIMASA as well as his contributions to the Emirate and the people of Kaduna State.
The Zazzau kingmakers prayed for him and wish him well in his endeavor, promising to assist him achieve his life ambition.
From there, Jamoh then proceeded to the palace p where he met with the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli for royal blessings.
The Emir described him as a true son of the Emirate who has done alot in uplifting the down trodden in the Emirate as well as the state. The traditional ruler then prayed for him.
Speaking shortly after the visit, Jamoh who told newsmen that he was yet to officially declare his governorship ambition saying the outcome of his consultations with his people will make him to take a stand on it.
“I am here to consult with my family members, immediate community and emirate council before I can take any stand on the issue.
“Im aware that people has been placing my posters all over the state but I want to inform you that I did not assign anybody to place or sponsor any such move.
“They were all doing it out of love and pressure for me to succumb to their wishes and aspirations. And I promise to make my stance known in the shortest possible time.
“All I require from people now is prayers for Allah’s guidance on all that we do,” he declared.
