Governor Fayemi declares for 2023 President

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has formally declared his intention to contest for president in 2023 on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

He made the declaration on Wednesday in Abuja.

Fayemi promised to ensure youth empowerment when he becomes the president.


He also pledged to “retool the Armed Forces and security agencies”.

Also, he promised decentralisation for the government to be brought closer to the people.

The Ekiti State Governor assured other aspirants that “I will adhere to the highest standards of decorum and decency.”

Recall, Governor Fayemi had been on a consulting tour with too stakeholders in the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Before his declaration, he has visited Governor of Kano State, H.E Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for further consultations regarding the APC Presidential Primary election.

According to him, he also seized the opportunity to visit the former two-term governor of Benue State, a three-term senator, and Nigeria’s current Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume.
